Let it snow! 01/30/2010
The studio is open during this most fabulous winter weather. Check the schedule as some classes have been cancelled but not all. I live just around the corner so for those that can make it I would encourage you all to come. It's just beautiful from the inside. Gaze out the windows throughout your asanas while settling into a warm and inspiring practice. For those that braved it this morning thank you and.... wasn't it awesome! The Anjali class tomorrow is sure to be a "knock your socks off" class with meditation, mantras, a little power flow and some ropes. Please join us. Add Comment Is it HOT???????????????????? 01/25/2010
OK, let's make something clear here. This is the most common question that I get. The studio is a toasty 75-85 degrees depending on the class. Beginner's and seniors don't exactly need to fry their brain cells while trying to practice and learn about yoga. Our Vinyasa and Anjali class is on the warmer side and yes, YOU WILL SWEAT. I don't want people passing out, throwing up or leaving and never coming back because of the heat. So all I can offer those that have the heat addiction is to come and try it out. If it's not hot enough for you, speak up and we will do a few more SuryaNamaskara B's and crank up your internal furnace. Now Open with Flowers Galore 01/25/2010
Our opening weekend was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who attended classes, sent me well wishing emails and a special thanks to Diana and Christina; Anjali's most fantastic instructors. We had all levels of yogis attend both yoga classes and Diana's Pilates & Heartfit Barre classes. I personally attended all the classes and am so excited with the variety of offerings for all levels. I have to admit that I am completely worn out from all the work but my body has never felt better. Did someone mention Gatorade...??? I'm still thirsty. If you're a pilates practitioner, come try some yoga. If your a yogi, come try the Heartfit Barre. Nothing like a little cross training to keep your body thinking and working different muscle groups. There's no better place to start your new year than at our beautiful Anjali Yoga Studio. Special thanks to Ann Owen for all of the beautiful flowers she donated and to Doug and Isis from Direct TV for their beautiful tropical bouquet delivered on Saturday. What a heartwarming surprise. Thank you!!! Yoga For Teens Classes Added As Requested!! 01/20/2010

Well, many of you may have guessed as did I that construction will not be complete by the 15th. So we are opening on the 23rd! Please accept my sincerest apologies and join us next week. I could probably pull it off but I want it to be as close to perfect as possible and give you all a real "WOW" effect. In the meantime, start practicing your handstands and backbends. Hold your handstand against a wall for 1 minute intervals 4 x . We are going to jump right in as soon as the studio is ready. Thank you for your understanding. Namaste' Floors are in....! 01/11/2010

I can't express what a pleasure it is to announce Diana Forte-Turner's involvement with The Anjali Yoga Studio. I don't think I could have created a more perfect individual for the classes that she will be teaching: Pilates and her trademark HearfitBarre. Diana's passion and experience in body movement, dance, ballet, and the performing arts are unparalleled. Drawing on over 30 years of experience, Diana brings her style, expertise and influence to Southern Pines. We are so happy to have her!!! Thank you for joining Diana!! |
